Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu recalls being gifted a car by Sachin Tendulkar on 'The Kapil Sharma Show'

Sindhu further shared how she was in immense pain during the quarterfinal match at Commonwealth Games 2022.

Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu recently recalled how master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has been helping sports personalities over the years citing an incident when the former Indian cricketer gifted her a car after she clinched a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics (Rio). Notably, Olympic medal shuttler made an appearance at the popular comedy show 'The Kapil Sharma Show' along with boxing champion Nikhat Zareen, lawn bowl team - Rupa Rani Tirkey, Lovely Choubey, Pinki Singh, and Nayanmoni Saikia.

In a candid conversation with the host of the show, Kapil Sharma, Sindhu recalled an incident involving celebrated Indian cricketer which boosted her confidence and helped her to do well. "After my participation at Commonwealth Games 2014, Sachin sir called me and congratulated me. He also assured me that if I get a medal in the Rio Olympics 2016 then he will gift him a car."

"When I won a medal at the Rio Olympics, he ensured that he visits me and gifts a car. I am really thankful to him as this gesture really made me happy. He also spoke to me and boosted my confidence for the future tournaments," she said. Adding further, Sindhu claimed that former Indian cricketer has been helping lot of sports personalities financially and morally.

"It's a very kind of him that he often reaches out to sports personalities which is like a major motivation for them to get much future and do well. These kinds of awards and rewards gives lot of more confidence to all sportspersons. I really like cars. I’m very thankful to him that he gave me a car," she added. 

In a conversation with Kapil Sharma, Sindhu further shared how she was in immense pain during the quarterfinal match at Commonwealth Games 2022. "I was like I have to complete this match. So, after the match my physio team and my trainer were also there so I told them I don’t know what happened but it’s a lot. My heart and mind were focused on winning the medal. So, during the semi-final and final, I was only thinking that I have to give my best and I gave my hundred per cent and won the gold," she concluded.
