The Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu will host the Group A matches of East Bengal in the upcoming AFC Challenge League from October 26th to November 1st. East Bengal are returning to Asian club football after 2015 by winning the 2024 Kalinga Super Cup.
The AFC Challenge League will consist of five groups with three groups consisting of four teams from the West and two groups consisting of three teams from the East. The Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu will also host home matches of Paro FC from Group A.
Eight Teams from five group will qualify through to quarter-final stage of AFC Challenge League
East Bengal will take on Paro FC on October 26, followed by their matches with Bashundhara Kings on October 29th and Nejmeh SC on November 1st. After the end of the group stage, eight teams will be qualifying for the next round, including three group winners and the runner-ups from the West and top two finishers in both groups of East each.
East Bengal lost the chance to qualify for the AFC Champions League stage two group after losing to Altyn Asyr FC by 2-3 in the one-off qualifier. They now need to finish in top two of the group A to qualify through to the quarter-final of the AFC Challenge League.
