Ambati Rayudu joins St Kitts & Nevis Patriots as marquee player for CPL 2023

Rayudu will be the second Indian to play in CPL after veteran Mumbai spinner Pravin Tambe.

Amba ti Rayudu is set to play in the men's Caribbean Premier League (CPL) after St Kitts & Nevis Patriots signed him as a marquee player for the 2023 season. Rayudu will be the second Indian to play in CPL after veteran Mumbai spinner Pravin Tambe.

The 37-year-old retired from all forms of cricket after Chennai Super Kings' fifth IPL title in May this year. After the IPL, Chennai's MLC side Texas Super Kings unveiled Rayudu as one of their signings but the Hyderabad cricketer wasn't cleared to play after the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) introduced a one-year cooling-off period for retired Indian players before they can participate in overseas franchise leagues.
