Rajat Patidar played an innings to remember for a long time in the IPL 2022 Eliminator between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants. In a batting lineup that boasted of the likes of Virat Kohli, captain Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell, it was Patidar who delivered on the big stage and scored a scintillating hundred, finishing with an unbeaten 112 off 54 balls.

Comparing Patidar to Anuj Rawat, ex-IPL star and domestic cricket legend Rajat Bhatia said that Rawat is nowhere close to Patidar and he is not sure why the management had decided to prefer Rawat over Patidar in the initial matches of the season. Bhatia made this comment while speaking to SportsTiger on their mid-innings show Mid-Wicket Live.

Patidar's effort which includes three sixes and two boundaries off a single over ensured that Bangalore score 84 runs in the final overs as Bangalore finished at 207/4 in their 20 overs. Other than Patidar, Dinesh Karthik also came good as he chipped in with an unbeaten 37 from 23 balls.

In a bowling effort where every bowler conceded over 9 runs an over with Dushmantha Chameera conceding over 13 runs an over, it was Mohsin Khan's figures that stood out as he finished with 1 for 25. In response, Lucknow lost Quinton de Kock early but other batters are continuing to score at a brisk rate to keep Lucknow alive in the match.
