Even as India failed to reach the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 and bowed out of the competition after facing a 10-wicket defeat to England in the semifinals, there have been quite a few positives from their campaign in Australia. Among the pluses, shining brightly is young Arshdeep Singh who was captain Rohit Sharma's go-to bowler on many occasions in the tournament.

The left-arm speedster made the most of the opportunity and finished as the team's highest wicket-taker with 10 wickets from 6 matches at an average of 15.60 and an economy of 7.80. Such was his accuracy and consistency that it left even the greats of the game impressed with what they saw of him.

Former Australian cricketer David Hussey showered praise on Arshdeep Singh, terming him the find of the T20 World Cup 2022.

"Balanced," Hussey described India's brand of cricket in the tournament before the semifinal in an interview with TOI Online. "They know how to soak up the big moments of the game. They have got Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav playing superbly well. Their bowling line-up is exceptional and Arshdeep Singh is probably the find of the tournament for me," he added.

While India's T20 World Cup campaign might have come to an end, they will now tour New Zealand for a white-ball series followed by a tour of Bangladesh. Hardik Pandya will lead the Men in Blue in the T20I format on this tour while Shikhar Dhawan will lead the team in the ODIs as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul among others have been handed a short break.

Team India's focus will now shift towards the ODI World Cup set to happen in 2023 in India.
