Cummins to Wood

Australia have already retained the Ashes but that does not mean they are going to be complacent in the remaining games. The final day of the fourth Test is just a testimony of why Ashes is one of the top bilateral series in Test cricket. After setting a huge target of 388 in the fourth innings, Australia found some resistance from England in form of Zak Crawley and Ben Stokes. However, some fiery bowling from captain Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon has opened the floodgates.

Nathan Lyon broke Stokes' resistance and Pat Cummins capitalized on it with two back-to-back wickets to leave England stranded. The visitors lost Jos Buttler and Mark Wood in course of three deliveries. It was sheer brilliance from the Australian captain on both occasions. But the Wood dismissal was one to be remembered for long.

After trapping Jos Buttler LBW on the fourth delivery of his 18th over, Cummins bowled a big inswinging yorker to dismiss Wood. It was bowled at a nice pace from Cummins and Wood was deep into his crease expecting a yorker. It was that but with some added venom. The ball tailed back in so much that it missed Wood's bat and hit his right shoe. Both the bowler and the batsman knew the result and it was all jubilation for the Kangaroos.

Talking about the game, England don't have much left for them as they have lost eight wickets. Jack Leach and Stuart Broad are finding it hard against a pumped-up Australian bowling lineup. England's last hope Jonny Bairstow was removed by Scott Boland.
