Pakistan on Sunday defeated India by 5 wickets in Super Four stage of Asia Cup 2022 with the help of brilliant batting performance from Mohammad Rizwan. India, after being put to bat first, had a strong start from their opening pair Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul which laid a beautiful platform for team to set a good total on board. Virat Kohli smashed his 2nd consecutive fifty-plus (60) score in this Asia Cup and helped India to post a competitive total of 181/7 in 20 overs. Among Pakistan bowlers, Mohammad Nawaz was the outstanding performer as he just conceded only 25 runs in his quota of 4 overs and picked a key wicket of Suryakumar Yadav as well.

Despite having a shaky start in first 10 overs, Pakistan had a brilliant 3rd wicket partnership between Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Rizwan, which ended up being a threat for Indians and later Asif Ali-Khushdil Shah pair ensured they cross the winning line in a nail biting thriller. Arshdeep Singh despite dropping a simple catch, did well with ball and tried his level best to defend 7 runs off the final over.
