Indian athlete Tejaswin Shankar won the silver medal in the men's decathlon event at the Asian Games 2023. Shankar led the competition, yesterday (October 2) but couldn't continue his stunning perform on October 3. Shakar finished with a total score of 7666 to finish second after 10 gruelling events. With this feat, Shankar won India's first medal in decathlon since 1974 and also broke the national record.

Whereas, long-distance runner Mohammed Afsal Pulikkalakath clinched the silver medal in the men's 800 m final Kumar, the highest-ranked runner in the event, took the second spot with a time of 1:48.43'. Whereas India's other competitor in the event, Krishan Kumar finished fifth. managed a finish in fifth place.

Continuing the medal haul for the India, jumper  Praveen Chithravel won the bronze in the men’s triple jump event. He couldn't complete his sixth attempt but managed to secure the third spot with his first jump of 16.68m.  Fellow Indian competitor, Aboobacker finished fourth with a 16.62m jump.
