The highly-anticipated ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is approaching as India and South Africa have already announced their squads for the marquee event. Apart from them, Cricket Australia has recently announced their 15-member World Cup squad on Wednesday morning.

The 2023 ODI World Cup is scheduled to commence on October 5 with the 2019 World Cup final rematch between the defending champions England and the 2019 WC runners-up New Zealand. The World Cup is scheduled to take place in India for the first time since 2011 when the Men in Blue lifted the trophy for the second time.

Australia are scheduled to open their World Cup campaign against hosts India on October 8 at the  MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

"Pat Cummins, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell are on track in their return to play programs. All are well placed to come back online in the coming weeks and potentially for selection in the upcoming series against India," Cricket Australia selectors chairman  George Bailey said.

“There are eight one-day matches still to play in South Africa and India before the final squad is due to be declared. They are followed by two World Cup practice games, which offers plenty of opportunity to continue the build for the tournament.”
