
The India vs Australia T20I series has been extremely entertaining so far with the second game going to a super over. The Aussie women put on an incredible batting display as the stars of the opening game Beth Mooney and Tahlia McGrath lit up the DY Patil Stadium. Australia posted a massive total of 187 where McGrath and Mooney combined to score 152 runs in 105 balls. But the Women in Blue didn’t hold back and got off to another brilliant start.
The opening duo of Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma scored runs at a quick rate before Verma was dismissed in the eighth over. Then Mandhana took charge and smashed the Aussie attack across to score 79 in 49 balls. As the game was nearing its end, India’s young guns - Richa Ghosh and Devika Vaidya, scored quick runs to level the scores and take the game to a super over.
The Indian women batted first and posted a competitive 21-run target in their six balls. Then with the ball, Renuka Singh gave away 15 runs and helped win the game in a spectacular fashion.
