Indian star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has finally returned to the cricket field for the first time since suffering from a thumb injury in Australia two months back. After Sunil Gavaskar had earlier commented that Jadeja's dislocated thumb was taking too long to heal, the 32-year-old finally revealed the status of his injury on Tuesday.
The all-rounder provides an update on his injury
The southpaw posted a video on Twitter to show some glimpses of his first day at the field of National Cricket Academy, post his thumb surgery. The caption read 'Back on the field' as the all-rounder can be seen running around, working on his recovery process. The fans were undoubtedly happy to see the star player back in action. They expressed their excitement and hoped to see him back playing for India very soon.
Jadeja's injury that ruled him out of England series
The 32-year-old suffered the injury during the third Test between India and Australia in January, earlier this year. A fast-delivery from Mitchell Starc had struck Jadeja on his left-thumb, resulting in a fracture.
Jadeja was initially ruled out of the Brisbane Test and India's 4-match series against England. The all-rounder was expected to return for the limited-over series but unfortunately, his injury could not heal on time. As a result, Jadeja was subsequently ruled out of the upcoming T20I and ODI series against England as well.
