X, formerly known as Twitter, erupted in excitement as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan put on a spectacular display of cricketing prowess on day four of the third Test between India and England. After levelling the series, high-voltage cricketing drama shifted to Rajkot as Rohit Sharma and Co. aimed to extend their win tally to 2-1. On Day 4 of the third Test, India resumed their batting after having called it a day on 196 for two wickets. Jaiswal who retired out after slamming his third Test hundred on February 17, Saturday, joined Kuldeep Yadav on the crease at 104.

The 22-year-old youngster, who slammed a double hundred in the previous Test, continued his brilliant run and went on to score another double century. Not only this, but he also became the second left-handed batter to cross 500 runs in a series after Sourav Ganguly’s 534 runs against Pakistan in 2007. In addition, Sarfaraz Khan also hit back-to-back fifties on debut, helping India extend their lead beyond 550 runs. India declared their innings at 430 at the loss of four wickets.

Jaiswal and Khan were nothing short of spectacular and put the home side in a commanding position. Their exquisite composure at the crease built a strong platform for two-time WTC finalists and left cricket fans in awe. Here’s how fans reacted to the same.

England began their run chase and scored 10 runs in five overs as of writing.
