After levelling the series, high-voltage cricketing drama shifted to Rajkot as Rohit Sharma and Co. aimed to extend their win tally to 2-1. On Day 4 of the third Test, India resumed their batting after having called it a day on 196 for two wickets. Jaiswal who retired out after slamming his third Test hundred on February 17, Saturday, joined Kuldeep Yadav on the crease at 104.
The 22-year-old youngster, who slammed a double hundred in the previous Test, continued his brilliant run and went on to score another double century. Not only this, but he also became the second left-handed batter to cross 500 runs in a series after Sourav Ganguly’s 534 runs against Pakistan in 2007. In addition, Sarfaraz Khan also hit back-to-back fifties on debut, helping India extend their lead beyond 550 runs. India declared their innings at 430 at the loss of four wickets.
