The football fan-base in India, especially Mumbai is excited beyond words as the Barca Legends and Real Madrid Leyendas will face-off against each other on April 6 at the DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai. The 55,000 spectator capacity stadium will surely be jam-packed as football fans will flood in to watch these two esteemed sides take on each other. It is to be seen that FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are two of the biggest clubs in the world and not only their main teams but also the legends squad are extremely popular in the country.
While fans have been waiting patiently for the tickets for this mega-event to go live, a special pre-sale round went live on District by Zomato a few days ago. The tickets were available exclusively for HSBC card holders and ranged in the price bracket from INR 4,000 to INR 15,000.
First El Clasico to be held in India; second time that Barca Legends will come to India
The Barca Legends was formed in 2016 and is managed by FC Barcelona as a setup to bring together former players of its club. This initiative was launched by Barcelona to grow its global brand value and capitalise on the love Barca players receive from around the globe. The Real Madrid Leyendas is also a similar initiative.
This El Clasico between these two sides is happening for the first time in India. Barca Legends however have travelled to India before in September 2018 when they played a friendly match against a veteran team of the famous Indian football club; Mohun Bagan FC. The Barca Legends team is touring to quite a lot of locations this year to play exhibition matches including Puerto Rico, Mexico, Georgia etc.
