Skip Bayless, the American sports personality, believes that the basketball gods have blessed the Los Angeles Lakers star, LeBron James, in his quest to win yet another NBA championship. The 72-year-old also remarked that the Los Angeles Lakers will beat the defending champions Denver Nuggets in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs in six games.
The Los Angeles Lakers are set to play the first game of the NBA Western Conference first-round playoffs against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday, April 20, at the Ball Arena. Apart from claiming the win for the Lakers in the series against the Nuggets, Skip Bayless also predicted that they will start the best-of-seven series with a win this weekend.
During his appearance on the Undisputed podcast on YouTube, Skip Bayless made a startling claim about the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James while saying, “The Lakers are going to win tomorrow night and they are going to win the series in six games. Because I believe the basketball gods have tapped LeBron James on the shoulder. I believe they have blessed him. I believe his plan is just aligned in ways I did not see coming. And it started one week ago tonight in of all places San Antonio.”
Skip Bayless spoke about how the San Antonio Spurs shocked the Denver Nuggets in the upset of the year, which led to the latter losing their number one seed in the West, dropping them in LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers' path. He also alluded to the fact that the New Orleans Pelicans were close to defeating the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA play-in tournament, but an injury at the crucial juncture Zion Williamson led to LeBron James and his team escaping with a big win, to reach the first round of the playoffs, setting up a battle against the Denver Nuggets.
