According to reports, Bayern Munich are closing in to sign a new contract with their key player Joshua Kimmich, preventing the German from leaving the club this summer as a free agent. Negotiations between the two are well advanced, and the extension of the contract will be finalized in the coming days. The new contract is set to last till 2028. As per the transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Kimmich is considering the most recent offer, which includes revised values for the club's planned bonus system. He plays an important role for the team both on and off the pitch. This dilemma appears to be resolved rather quickly, and Kimmich will continue to dominate the central midfield for at least three years.

Moreover, there are no concrete talks between Real Madrid and Liverpool. The report also says that Ancelotti is largely interested in signing Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold as a free agent. The 2025-26 squad looks quite promising due to the contract extensions of Alphonso Davies, Manuel Neuer, and Jamal Musiala, as well as the recent additions of Jonas Urbig and Tom Bischof.

Joshua Kimmich suffers left hamstring injury against Eintracht Frankfurt

Besides the new contract signing talks, Joshua Kimmich is undergoing a rest after he left the first half of the Bundesliga game against Eintracht Frankfurt due to injury in left hamstring. Following the medical examination by the club's medical team, it was reported that the midfielder is suffering from tendinitis and must rest for the time being.

"'Jo' went into the game with a knock. He's being examined right now, so I can't say anything yet. But he didn't go off voluntarily. Hopefully, it's nothing serious, but you never know," Bayern board member Max Eberl told DAZN.

The 30-year-old midfielder has appeared in all 36 games for the Bavarians this season, scoring once and assisting 10 times.
