Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing Eberechi Eze, 23, the Crystal Palace and England midfielder, in the summer transfer window, to bolster their attacking side of things ahead of the new season. Following a successful signing of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace last season, the newly crowned Bundesliga champions are looking towards the English club once again, this time to potentially sign his former teammate Eberechi Eze this summer.
As per the report published in Football Insider, Mick Brown, the former chief scout at Manchester United and Blackburn, stated that the Bayern Munich manager is targeting Eberechi Eze to add strength and depth to his attacking lineup. With Eze having quite a good camaraderie with Michael Olise from their Crystal Palace days, the idea of having both play together for Bayern Munich is quite a tempting one.
Michael Olise could prove to be a bridge between Eberechi Eze and Bayern Munich
It is understood that Olise could prove to be a bridge between Eze and Bayern Munich, helping his former teammate to join his current club. With Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala already a part of the attacking ranks of Bayern Munich, the introduction of the Olise and Eze partnership next season could propel the German champions to greater heights, especially in European competition.
The current contract of Eberechi Eze has a release clause worth £68 million with Crystal Palace, which Bayern Munich is expected to trigger if they are able to make him accept their project for next season and beyond. In his statement to Football Insider, Mick Brown was quoted as saying, “Eze is one of the names Bayern are looking at. They had a lot of success with Michael Olise coming in from Palace, he’s been terrific for them, so they’re hoping the same might happen with Eze.”
“Those two have quite a close relationship as well, so I have no doubt they’ll have spoken about it. He’ll (Michael Olise) sell it to him (Eberechi Eze) because he’s clearly enjoyed his time there,” he added.
