Following Virat Kohli’s decision, the BCCI is reportedly wanting to hold talks with the veteran batter. As per reports, the meeting is expected to be held before the Test squad selection, which is tentatively scheduled for May 23. Moreover, a report in the Cricbuzz added that a highly influential person in the cricketing circle is expected to meet the batter to persuade Kohli.
“He’s still incredibly fit and hungry. His presence in the dressing room lifts the entire team,” said a senior BCCI official on the condition of anonymity, as quoted by IANS. “We’ve requested him to take some time before making a final call,” he further added.
Moreover, another source close to the development was quoted as saying by The Indian Express, “he has made up his mind and has informed the board that he is moving on from Test cricket. The BCCI has urged him to rethink as the crucial England tour is coming up. He is yet to revert on the request.”
