Just days after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to come together to address the season, which had its highs as well as lows during the two-and-a-half month period. The tournament, which commenced in last week of March, saw it get suspended for a week due to the heightened cross-border tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack.

However, it resumed after a brief halt, it concluded with a tragic accident after the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) victory parade turned into a tragedy, leaving 11 dead and over 70 injured. While the discussions around the Bengaluru stampede case are still on, the BCCI is set to address this matter in their Apex Council Meeting.

BCCI to hold Apex Council Meeting on June 14; Bengaluru stampede to be key agenda: Reports

As the apex Indian cricketing body is likely to hold a meeting on Saturday, June 14, their key agenda is likely to be around the IPL victory celebration guidelines. A BCCI source informed of the same to ANI, stating, "BCCI will call an apex council meeting on June 14 to discuss the IPL celebration and formulate new norms. The meeting could be held virtually."

It is to be noted, a day after RCB lifted their maiden IPL title, beating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, they arrived in Bengaluru to double their celebrations. However, their open bus parade was canceled after the Bengaluru Police refrained from providing security at such a short notice, their travel from the Vishana Soudha till M. Chinnaswamy Stadium saw fans flock in large number, leading to the stampede incident.
