With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 set to get underway in just a few days’ time, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to host all ten captains of the franchises. As per a report published by Cricbuzz, captains of all ten participating franchises in IPL 2025 are required to report at the headquarters of BCCI on Thursday, March 20.

While it is not only the captains, the managers of the franchises have also been extended an invitation via email. However, the details of the meeting haven’t been revealed yet, but it comes seeing the introduction of new rules and changes in several different aspects of the league.

BCCI to host all ten franchise captains ahead of IPL 2025: Reports

As per the report by Cricbuzz, the meeting is scheduled to be held in the noon hours and is likely to last for an hour at least. However, the meeting is accompanied by sponsor activities which will be held at the Taj Hotel. The captains are also scheduled to have a photoshoot with the IPL trophy and all necessary requirements will be held during this four-hour event.

However, almost all the captains have joined their respective franchises ahead of the season opener, they are set to land for the meeting on the same day. Elaborating on the skippers, five franchises have retained their leader, whereas five franchises will take the field with new skippers.

Hardik Pandya (MI), Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK), Pat Cummins (SRH), Sanju Samson (RR) and Shubman Gill (GT) have been retained at the helm of their respective franchises, Axar Patel will lead the Delhi Capitals, Rishabh Pant will take the helm with Lucknow Super Giants, Rajat Patidar has been named the captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) while Shreyas Iyer will be seen donning the captain’s hat at Punjab Kings. The defending champions will be led by Ajinkya Rahane.
