The fourth game of the Big Bash League will be played between Melbourne Stars and Hobart Hurricanes at MCG on Friday at 11:45 AM IST. While Stars faced a defeat in their opening game, Hurricanes will begin their campaign with this game. Melbourne Stars suffered a big blow just before the start of their first game against Sydney Thunders as Marcus Stoinis and Joe Burns were returned COVID positive. However, the team went ahead with both the player. Despite performing average with the bat, the bowlers took the game to the last over and the side lost by just 1 wicket.
Hobart Hurricanes, on the other hand, will be playing their first game of BBL 2022. The side is yet to win the men’s BBL but they will be hoping for their first title as this year they have added plenty of destructive batters in the squad.
Ben McDermott, Tim David and Nathan Ellis are expected to dominate this year’s BBL and we can expect a different approach from the team.
Here's our prediction for the exciting encounter:
Toss Prediction:

Talking about the previous three encounters between these two sides, Hobart Hurricanes have managed to win the tosses in all three occasions. Going by the history, the Hurricanes are likely to call the toss right again.
Win Possibility
Melbourne Stars struggled with the bat in their opening game as the side could only manage to post 122. However, their bowling stood out as they made a game out of nowhere. But looking at the powerhouse batters of Hurricanes, the Stars' bowlers are likely to struggle to hold the run scoring. Hurricanes are likely to win the game.
Predicted powerplay score and Average first inning total
Both teams have some destructive batters in their squad and we can expect some power hitting in the first 6 overs. The powerplay is likely to be between 55-60. The average first innings total at MCG is around 165. But teams are likely to score more than 170.
