Borussia Dortmund have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland on a five-year contract for £26.96 million plus £4.2 million in add-ons apart from 15% sell-on clause. The 19-year-old, who is the younger brother of Jude Bellingham, was on the radar of many clubs in Europe recently, but it was Borussia Dortmund, who were able to get his signature just like older brother a few years ago.

Notably, Jobe Bellingham has been a part of Sunderland since the year 2023 after joining them from Birmingham City, and in the recently concluded season, he played a key role in helping the club earn promotion to the Premier League. As a defensive midfielder, Jobe Bellingham played 43 matches for Sunderland in all competitions during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

Jobe Bellingham began his football career at Birmingham City before joining Sunderland

After being a part of Birmingham City’s academy and playing two years of football at the senior level for them, Jobe Bellingham played for Sunderland over two seasons, and now he will make his way to Germany to be the newest Borussia Dortmund signing. There is a chance that he might take part in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 from June 14 onward in the United States of America if the German club is able to complete his deal by June 10.

Jobe Bellingham will also get the chance to compete for the first-time ever in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) next season after Borussia Dortmund secured fourth spot in the Bundesliga table with a late rally, winning five matches in a row to finish the campaign strongly. The participation in UCL is one of the greatest achievements for any footballer in the world, and it won’t be any different for Jobe Bellingham.

Moreover, while the teenager is named in the England squad for the Under-21 European Championship, which will begin on June 11 in Slovakia, head coach Lee Carsley has confirmed that the players will be released from the national team to participate in the Club World Cup.
