"He (Prasidh) is down with COVID-19. The results have come in and he tested positive," a source close to the development was quoted in an ANI report. Earlier on Saturday, it was learnt that New Zealand cricketer Tim Seifert also tested positive for COVID-19 and he will have to stay back in India.

Commenting on the Kiwi player, New Zealand Cricket chief executive David White said: "It's really unfortunate for Tim and we'll do everything for him that we can from this end, and hopefully he will be able to test negative and be cleared and approved for discharge as soon as he's well again."

"Since receiving the news, we've organised support for Tim and have also -- via the players association, been in contact with his family to ensure they're kept fully informed and updated on developments," he added.

September and November two possible windows to host remainder of IPL

There are reports doing the rounds that there are two possible windows to host the remainder of IPL. Late September and late November are the two options being considered. With 31 matches remaining, close to 3 weeks with multiple double-headers across a few venues could be enough to finish the tournament. Meanwhile, India, England and UAE are the possible countries where the remaining fixtures can happen with even Sri Lanka offering to host the event.
