Punjab Kings are currently in the eighth position of the points table, and their loss against DC in match number 64 of IPL 2023 has further dented their chances of qualifying for the playoffs. PBKS have won six matches and lost seven matches in this IPL season so far. The question for all the fans is can Punjab still qualify for the playoffs? Here, we will see how the scenario should follow for other IPL teams to help PBKS enter the playoffs.

Current points table scenario:
GT - 9 wins (13 games)
CSK - 7 wins (13 games - 1 No Result)
LSG - 7 wins (13 games - 1 No Result)
MI - 7 wins (13 games)
RCB - 6 wins (12 games)
RR - 6 wins (13 games)
KKR - 6 wins (13 games)
PBKS - 6 wins (13 games)
DC - 5 wins (13 games)
SRH - 4 wins (12 games)
Looking at the points table, we have chosen SRH, DC, KKR, RR, RCB, and MI as the six teams since GT, CSK & LSG have more than 14 points in the table already.
DC and SRH already stand eliminated from the playoffs race as they can maximum get only 12 points in IPL 2023.
If PBKS beats RR on 19th May, then RR will also stand eliminated from the playoffs race as they will stay at only 12 points in IPL 2023 table.
1. Remaining schedule of KKR in IPL 2023:
vs LSG in Kolkata, 20th May
KKR must lose their last match against LSG since they already have 12 points in the table.
2. Remaining schedule of RCB in IPL 2023:
vs SRH in Hyderabad, 18th May
vs GT in Bengaluru, 21st May
RCB must lose their remaining two games against SRH and GT since they already have 12 points in the table.
3. Remaining schedule of MI in IPL 2023:
vs SRH in Mumbai, 21st May
MI must lose their last game against SRH by a very big margin. Already MI have 14 points in the table, so PBKS also should beat RR by a very big margin to surpass the NRR of MI.
Approximately as of now, PBKS must win by a margin of 45 runs (or) 5 overs to spare against RR for them to surpass the NRR of MI.
If the above scenario happens - DC, SRH, RR, KKR, RCB, & MI will be eliminated from IPL 2023 playoffs race.
