Sunrisers Hyderabad have won four out of eleven games in this IPL tournament. Hyderabad faced a setback in this IPL season due to a lack of consistency from their batters. SRH is on the verge of getting eliminated from the IPL 2023 playoff race after losing their recent game to LSG on their home soil

Does Hyderabad have a chance to enter playoffs despite losing seven matches overall? Here in this article, we will have answers to those questions.

For the best case, we assume Hyderabad win all their remaining three matches and reach 14 points by the end of this tournament.

SRH remaining schedule:
vs GT in Ahmedabad (15 May 2023)
vs RCB in Hyderabad (18 May 2023)
vs MI in Mumbai (21 May 2023)

Current points table scenario:
GT - 8 wins (12 games)
CSK - 7 wins (13 games - 1 No Result)
MI - 7 wins (12 games)
LSG - 6 wins (12 games - 1 No Result)

RCB - 6 wins (12 games)
RR - 6 wins (13 games)
KKR - 6 wins (13 games)
PBKS - 6 wins (12 games)
SRH - 4 wins (11 games)
DC - 4 wins (12 games)

SRH can qualify easily if six other teams get lesser than 14 points in IPL 2023.

We need six teams to get eliminated from the playoffs race. Looking at the points table, we have chosen DC, PBKS, KKR, RR, RCB, and LSG as the six teams since they have less than 14 points in the table currently.

DC can maximum reach 12 points only in the table even if they win their remaining two games, so they already stand eliminated.

1. Remaining games of LSG in IPL 2023:
vs MI in Lucknow (16 May 2023)
vs KKR in Kolkata (20 May 2023)

LSG should lose both of their remaining matches against MI and KKR since they already have 13 points in the table.

2. Remaining schedule of RCB in IPL 2023:

vs SRH in Hyderabad, 18th May
vs GT in Bengaluru, 21st May

RCB should lose both of their remaining matches against SRH and GT since they already have 12 points in the table.

3.  Remaining schedule of RR in IPL 2023:

vs PBKS in Dharamsala, 19th May

RR should lose to PBKS since they already have 12 points in the table.

4. Remaining schedule of KKR in IPL 2023:

vs LSG in Kolkata, 20th May

As per the above scenario, KKR already defeats LSG. KKR would also end at 14 points with SRH.

Now, SRH will have the challenge of surpassing KKR's net run rate in the IPL 2023 points table.

5. Remaining schedule of PBKS in IPL 2023:
vs DC in Dharamsala, 17th May
vs RR in Dharamsala, 19th May

PBKS should lose both of their remaining matches against DC and RR since they already have 12 points in the table.

But, as per the above scenario, PBKS already defeats RR. PBKS would also end at 14 points with SRH.

Thus, SRH has the challenge of surpassing the NRR of both KKR & PBKS in the IPL 2023 points table to qualify for the playoffs.

If all this happens - DC, LSG, RCB, RR, KKR & PBKS will be eliminated from the playoffs race in IPL 2023.

Thus, six teams get eliminated if all the above scenario happens, and SRH can qualify for the IPL 2023 playoffs with 14 points.

Note: Points table updated till CSK vs KKR match-61 of IPL 2023.
