Span ish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz defeated Germany's Alexander Zverev 6-1, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4 to win the French Open 2024. With this victory, the 21-year-old won his first Roland Garros Title and the third Grand Slam of his career. This victory also helped him further his unbeaten streak in Grand Slam finals in his young career.

Starting off the match, Carlos Alcaraz took the first set 6-3 with some commanding shot-making. Both players traded the first four games before the Spaniard took a 4-2 lead before Zverev came back to win the seventh. Soon Alcaraz won the next game to seal the set comfortably.

The next sets were won by Alexander Zverev after the match was momentarily halted as the court at the Philippe-Chatrier were being watered. The German clinched the second set 6-2 with some dominant play before Alcaraz took the Tokyo Olympic gold medalist to distance. Though Zverev won the third set 7-5, the Spaniard had rediscovered his groove. 

The 21-year-old then zoomed through the fourth set 6-1 and then continued this form in the fifth set. Though Zeverev won the first game in the fourth set,  Carlos Alcaraz shut him down to win six straight games to clinch that set. Then in the fifth set, the German managed to win two games but  Carlos Alcaraz won the final four games to seal the match and win his first French Open title.
