In a thrilling quarter-final encounter, the Spanish sensation rallied from a set down to claim a hard-fought 4–6, 7–5, 6–3 victory, marking his first-ever semi-final appearance at the prestigious clay-court tournament. The match began with Fils displaying fearless aggression, capitalising on early opportunities to seize the first set 6–4. Fils maintained his momentum in the second, racing to a 3–0 lead and threatening to pull off a major upset.

However, Alcaraz, known for his resilience and ability to rise under pressure, fought back with trademark intensity. Despite Fils creating seven break point chances in the second set, the Frenchman was unable to convert, allowing Alcaraz to claw his way back into contention. Speaking about the upcoming encounter with the Spaniard, Alcaraz reminisced about his friendship with Fokina and mentioned how his elder brother has played with him during his younger days. Amidst all this, Alcaraz also mentioned the difficulty of the tie and how he will be looking to go all in to get victory in this match. He said, “It’s going to be interesting; it’s not going to be easy!”

Talking about their friendship, Alcaraz mentioned how he likes to leave all friendships behind when he steps onto the court. He said, “It was never easy playing against a friend but you know this is tennis. Once you step on the court there are no friends!” A victory would not only secure Alcaraz a place in the final but also move him closer to capturing his sixth ATP Masters 1000 title, a timely boost as he builds momentum toward the upcoming French Open.
