Carlos Baleba, the Cameroonian international footballer, plays as a midfielder for the Premier league club Brighton & Hove Albion. Baleba has been the heart of the midfield for Brighton in the previous campaign. With that, Manchester United were eager to sign the midfielder from Brighton this season as they considered him as a player who could boost the overall strength of the squad.
Although, according to a recent report from Italian journlist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have called off their pursuit for Carlos Baleba as Brighton consider him as a key part of the squad for this Premier League campaign and have confirmed him not for sale in this summer transfer window. The Red Devils had not made any official bid for the Cameroonian international, but they were keeping a close eye on the player. They were also inquiring about his transfer fee with Brighton and if the Seagulls were open for a deal for the Cameroonian international.
Brighton head coach confident that Carlos Baleba will continue to be a part of Brighton this season
In a press conference ahead of the upcoming season, Brighton’s head coach Fabian Hurzler stated that he remains confident of Carlos Baleba continuing at Brighton this season. He stated, "Overall, he seems to be in a really good place. He's enjoying it with his team-mates. He's enjoying being a Brighton player.He's very grateful to have the progress he made in the last season. I didn't see any big change. He is an option to start for tomorrow."
Manchester United are now left exploring the available options in the transfer window to boost their midfield. Sporting Lisbon’s captain Morten Hjulmand remains an exciting option for Ruben Amorim as he knows him well since his time as head coach of the Portuguese club. Manchester United will kick off their Premier League campaign tomorrow against Arsenal at Old Trafford, they will be looking to make their fans happy by bringing in more reinforcements before the transfer window comes to an end.
