It’s time for the final showdown of the UEFA Champions League 2020-21, with an all-English final wrapping up the unprecedented season. The newly crowned Premier League title winners Manchester City, are all set to lock horns with Chelsea at Estadio de Drago, Porto on Saturday, May 29 (May 30 in India).

The two teams last met in a Premier League tie, where Thomas Tuchel's men secured a 2-1 victory over Pep Guardiola’s side at the Etihad stadium. The City will be eyeing a treble win, while clinching their maiden Champions League trophy, after winning the Carabao Cup and Premier League this season.  On the other hand, the Blues will be looking for redeeming the glory after losing the FA Cup final to Leicester City. Manchester City’s road to final

Manchester City topped Group C with 14 points in the group stage. Following this, Borussia Monchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund fell victim to Pep Guardiola’s men in the Round of 16 and quarterfinals, respectively. Facing last year Champions League finalists PSG in the semis, City secured a whopping 4-1 win on aggregate, making way to their first-ever Champions League final.

Chelsea’s road to finals

Under then-coach Frank Lampard, Chelsea topped Group H with 14 points in the group stage. The Blues continued with the dominance in the due course of the tournament, defeating Atletico Madrid 3-1, followed by FC Porto 2-1 to reach the semis. With Tuchel taking charge, Chelsea defeated Real Madrid, securing a comfortable victory to qualify for the Champions League final.
