After the Delhi Metro had extended the hours of services ahead of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 finale at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in New Delhi, the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has also ensured fans safe travel after they announced extending their services post midnight during the IPL 2024.
This move comes ahead of the Chennai Super Kings versus Gujarat Titans clash at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, aiming to facilitate the safe travel for fans. The CMRL has announced the extension of the metro services until 1:00 am on March 27.
“Considering the IPL cricket match that is scheduled at Chepauk Stadium, Chennai tomorrow on 26-3-2024 at 07:30 pm, CMRL wishes to inform that it will be operating metro trains beyond 11:00 pm tomorrow night till 01:00 am of 27-3-2024 to facilitate cricket fans of Chennai to return home safely after the match,” the Chennai Metro Rail X handle said.
Moreover, in the elaborated message, the metro services have urged fans to purchase the tickets beforehand via online platforms to ease the services. A single journey tickets will be available for INR 40 from the Government Estate Metro and INR 50 from Puratchi Thalaivar Dr M.G. Ramachandran Central Metro Station after 11:00 pm on the CMRL network.
