Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, took on Nepal in their second and tournament's fifth fixture in the Asia Cup 2023. The match started with the Men in Blue winning the toss and inviting the debutants to bat first. Nepal squad, under the leadership of Rohit Paudel, got off to a good start in the game and scored 33 runs in six overs without any loss.

Speaking of the Indian side, things didn’t go as expected for an experienced Indian team. Apart from the bowlers, the fielding of the Men in Blue was a complete let down as there were many instances when the Rohit Sharma boys dropped many critical catches in the match.
In the first six overs, a total of three incidents took place, when reliable players, including the likes of Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan dropped catches. Not only this, but Iyer, who made his comeback in the squad after recovering from injury, dropped another catch in the last stage of Nepal’s innings. It not only highlighted India’s poor form, but also left Indian fans disappointed and they took to social media to express the same.
