Cristiano Ronaldo is unarguably one of the greatest footballers to hail the beautiful sport of football. The 40-year-old recently extended his contract with the Saudi giants Al-Nassr after the team failed in winning a major trophy in the previous campaign. The Portuguese International has played for different clubs in different countries and is a legend for clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United, Sporting Lisbon & Juventus. Cristiano is on the path to reach the 1000 goals record which has not been done by any footballer yet. Cristiano also recently lifted the Nations League with Portugal after defeating Spain in the final.

The football pundit and former Manchester United player Gary Pallister who made 434 appearances for Manchester United stated his views on the Portuguese International's second return to Old Trafford, stated that "I think he chose the wrong time to come back to Manchester United. It would have tugged on the heart strings, no doubt, coming back to a place that he loved playing at. But we weren't the team for Cristiano to go into." Gary also stated that the move to Old Trafford during that time was not the right one.

Cristiano should have joined Manchester City after his exit from Juventus: Gary Pallister

The pundit further stated that Cristiano should have joined Manchester City after his exit from Juventus as that move would have made more sense for Cristiano. He added that Manchester United during that time weren't going to create chances and Cristiano is a player who thrives and comes alive in the box. He said that Pep Guardiola’s City would have created chances in the areas that Cristiano would have liked and he would have bagged more goals than what he did at United.

Cristiano’s second spell with the Red Devils did not end well as he had a breakdown in relations with the manager Erik Ten Hag because of which he decided to terminate his contract at United.
