Chennai Super King (CSK) head coach Stephen Fleming has told his players to take inspiration from their rivals Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who qualified for the playoffs in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 after bagging only one victory in their initial eight matches. Chennai are currently on backfoot in the competition with only two wins and six losses in eight matches. CSK will next take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on April 25. This year, the Yellow Army haven’t looked decent while playing in their backyard. The five-time champions won their opening game against Mumbai Indians (MI) but later they got hammering from RCB and defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at home.

However, ahead of the important clash, Fleming said he is expecting his team to win all their remaining six matches and qualify for the playoffs. "We're still hopeful of winning six out of six, and some will giggle at that, but RCB set a blueprint for that the year before," remarked Fleming ahead of the CSK versus SRH contest.

SRH will also look to bounce back against CSK in IPL 2025

Like CSK, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have also delivered disheartening performances to their fans in this tournament. Pat Cummins and his men are placed in the ninth spot on the points tally with two wins and six defeats. In their previous game, the 2016 champions registered a seven-wicket defeat against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on April 23.

For both CSK and SRH, the contest will be a battle of survival as the defeating side might almost get eliminated from the competition. Sunrisers will expect their batters to be disciplined in the remainder of the series as they haven’t looked in fine touch.
