Chennai Super Kings had a terrible outing in the IPL 2022 as the four-time champions finished at the ninth position. Chennai won only four out of their fourteen games and not having the perfect team combination was definitely one of the reasons. There were significant changes in the lineup as well throughout the season. Nevertheless, CSK players and the management would like to put those things behind them and create a formidable squad.

The CSK management has taken a few big decisions by letting go of their star players. CSK released Dwayne Bravo who will be back as support staff. Robin Uthappa has also been released by the MS Dhoni-led team. However, Chennai have retained the core team. Ambati Rayudu is still there. Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar has also retained his place despite missing out on an entire season last year.
