India's Priyanka won a silver in the women's 10,000m race walk on Saturday at the ongoing Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. The star athlete finished with a timing of 43:38:83 to finish second after Australia's Jemima Montag (42:34- WR) and Kenya' Emily Wamusyi Ngii (43:50) taking the bronze.
Priyanka clinches India's third track and field medal at CWG 2022 after Tejaswin Shankar (bronze in high jump) and M Sreeshankar (sliver in long jump). With the time of 43:38, she entered her personal best.
Later during the day, Avinash Sable bagged the fourth medal in the track & field events for India. he finished with a silver in Men's 3000m Steeplechase.
The women's 4 x 100m relay team comprising of Dutee Chand, Hima Das, Srabani Nanada and Jyothi Yarraji also qualified for the finals. They finished second in their heat with a timing of 44.45s.
