Dana White, the President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) gifted a Lamborghini, worth 652,000 pounds, to Aljamain Sterling after getting involved in a bitter Twitter exchange with him last month. The 33-year-old UFC Bantamweight Champion wasn’t impressed with Dana White’s call of putting him in a title bout against the fellow American Sean O’Malley, a few short months after a successful defence of his championship.

On August 19 of this year, Aljamain Sterling is scheduled to put his bantamweight championship on the line against the challenger at the TD Garden in Boston during the main event of UFC 292. The American had kept the stranglehold on his title after winning on split decision against his fellow countryman Henry Cejudo, who made his triumphant return to the sport during the main event of UFC 288 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on May 6.

The reason for Aljamain Sterling not being completely on board about defending his title was the swift turnaround from one PPV fight to another. He stated that his body may not heal in time to be at his best for the UFC 292 event in Boston on August 19.

Dana White didn’t respond in kind to his sentiment on Twitter, in a now deleted tweet, by saying, “If you’re (Aljamain Sterling) not healthy, don’t take the fight. We’ll have somebody else fight, we’ll do somebody else for the interim title. Don’t say you’re going to go out and fight and then start saying stuff like if my body holds up.”

Shortly afterward, Aljamain Sterling fired back at his boss, in yet another deleted tweet, which read, “When I say I’m going to show up, I f***ing show up and I fight.”

Later on, the American combat sports athlete also sent out another tweet about the matter. He was quoted as saying, “I’m a phone call away boss! Respectfully, you made a fight, the night of the fight, without a single word of it mentioned to me or checking on my injuries. I have a personal life outside of fighting. But once again, I’ll show up and piss in everyone’s Cheerios…again. Cheers”

Recently, after Dana White gifted the Lamborghini to Aljamain Sterling, he talked to The Schmo about resolving the issues between him and the boss. He said, “Dana finally got me that Lambo I’ve been asking for. He’s a man of his word.”
