The Delhi Capitals camp have suffered a massive blow as one of their net bowlers has tested positive for COVID-19. Sources also reveal that DC has decided to isolate the player along with another bowler who was sharing the room with him.

As per IPL’s protocol regarding the COVID-19, Delhi Capitals will need to go through another round of testing and until that moment all players will have to be isolated in their rooms.

Delhi Capitals are scheduled to face Chennai Super Kings today evening at DY Patil Stadium. DC is fifth in the points table as they won five games while also losing five.

The Delhi Capitals have been suffering from many COVID-19 cases throughout the tournament this season. Their head coach Ricky Ponting’s family member had also tested positive and hence Ponting decided to miss a few games. Similarly, Last month, Tim Seifert and Mitchell Marsh along with four of their support staff members had tested positive. DC is the only team which has witnessed Covid 19 cases in their camp which have resulted in a change of schedule and venue.

Delhi enters their game against Chennai Super Kings after a resounding victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Capitals posted a massive total of 207 and then restricted SRH to 186.  DC captain Rishabh Pant praised his team for an incredible performance and said, “There is always room for improvement, but it's close to a perfect game for us as a batting unit. I was calm about myself. In high chases, the other team needs 10-12 runs per over, it's difficult to hit till the 20th over.”

“I was telling the bowlers to be calm. (On Warner) The way he batted, the way he paced the innings, it's one of the best innings. We knew what he (Powell) can give us, we backed him and he's coming out with flying colours now. We are just taking one game at a time and trying to give our 100%. I got out to a full-toss, that's part and parcel of the game. Good and important win for us."
