The o fficial anthem for the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) was released on Wednesday (1 March). As the tournament is all set to get underway from 4 March, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a lyrical video of the WPL anthem which is titled “Yeh toh bas shuruat hai!”.
Famous music composer Shankar Mahadevan has lent his vocals as well as the music in the WPL anthem. The song is a tribute to the resilience and determination of Indian women cricketers, who have overcome numerous obstacles to reach the pinnacle of the sport.
It also captures the essence of the league and the spirit of the players. The lyrics of the song talk about the challenges that the players have faced and the determination with which they have overcome them. The song encourages the players to continue their journey and promises that they will stay stronger and more determined than ever before.

“AWESOME” say fans
The theme song for the inaugural edition of the WPL was well-received by the fans on social media. Most of them looked satisfied with the song as one of them called it “awesome”.
