The Delhi Police has filed a chargesheet against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for sexual harassment charges against him by female Indian wrestlers. Standing against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, several Indian wrestlers, including Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Sakshee Malikkh, have been protesting in Delhi and have accused BJP of sexual assault, including that of a minor wrestler.

The chargesheet was filed after wrestlers, who have been protesting since April, had a meeting with Union Minister Anurag Thakur. The minister promised strict action against Singh by June 15. Coming back to the charge sheet, the cops filed a report to cancel of FIR filed under the POCSO Act against the WFI chief before a Delhi court. The report claimed that no "corroborative evidence" was found to prove the allegations.

The filed chargesheet at the  Rouse Avenue Court,  regarding Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh stated, “In the FIR registered by the wrestlers, after completion of the investigation, we are filing a chargesheet for the offences under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (sexual harassment and punishment for sexual harassment), 354D (stalking) of the IPC against accused Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and for offences under sections 109 (punishment of abetment, if the act abetted, is committed in consequence and when no express provision is made for its punishment)/ 354/354A/506 (punishment of criminal intimidation) IPC against accused Vinod Tomar before the concerned court," as per the Delhi Police.

Further talking about the POCSO case, the Delhi Police sent a cancellation report to Patiala House. The police’s report said, "In the POCSO matter, after completion of the investigation, we have submitted a police report under Section 173 CrPC requesting a cancellation of the case based upon statements of the complainant -- the father of the victim and the victim herself.”

So far talking about the wrestlers’ protest has had some extremely bog moments including multiple scuffles with the Delhi Police at Jantar Mantar. Further, the protest moved to Har ki Pauri Ganga ghat in Haridwar as wreslters wanted to immerse their medals as a symbol of their protest before being stopped at the last minute by farmer leaders.
