KL Rahul, the Indian international cricketer in all formats, is looking to make a swift return to the national team after going through a successful thigh surgery yesterday on May 9. He tore a tendon in his right thigh while captaining Lucknow Super Giants against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1, during the 2023 season of the Indian Premier League. Because of the said injury, Rahul was ruled out of the tournament and the subsequent World Test Championship (WTC) final for Team India against Australia commencing on June 7 at The Oval in London.

After his successful surgery, KL Rahul posted a short message in which he wrote, “Hi everyone, I just got done with my surgery. It was successful.” He went on to thank the doctors and medical staff for all their efforts and remarked, “A big thank you to the doctors and medical staff for making sure I was comfortable and everything went smoothly.”

The 31-year-old then proceeded to tell everyone that he has begun his road to recovery and is determined to play cricket as soon as possible. His tweet read, “I am officially on the road to recovery now. I am determined to get back to my best and get back on the field. Onwards and upwards.”

As per the declaration of KL Rahul, he is possibly targeting a return to Team India for the ACC Asia Cup (ODI edition) scheduled to be played in the month of September, exactly four months from now. If not the Asia Cup, then he will definitely want to play the ICC Cricket World Cup, scheduled to begin on October 5 at home.
