The inaugural Women’s Premier League auction has seen some incredible moments where some young player went for big money. One such player was Indian bowler Devika Vaidya, who was picked up by the UP Warriorz for a massive price of INR 1.4 crore.
The right-arm leg-spinner has been part of the Indian national team for some time now and is part of the ongoing T20 World Cup in South Africa. In an injury-riddled career, Vaidya has gradually reclaimed her spot in the national team and repaid the faith shown in her in the warm-up fixture against Bangladesh. She bowled a spell of 2/21 in three overs and was effective in the middle and death overs.
