After Real Betis defender Aitor Ruibal received a red card for hitting Cadiz defender Fali in the face, Real Madrid fans have emerged with a video from the last month's La Liga match against Real Betis. In the video, Ruibal was clearly seen elbowing midfielder Eduardo Camavinga during the 46th minute and the referee seemingly ignored the incident.
The sixth-placed Real Betis faced a 2-0 home loss to the 14th placed Cadiz on Sunday night in the La Liga 2022-23 at the Benito Villamarin stadium. Forward Chris Ramos doubled the visitors lead before the one-hour mark into the game, which frustrated the home side as Ruibal, who was making a run on the right wing, swung his hand on the defender and knocked him down. The referee instantly showed the red card to Ruibal in the 60th minute.

After watching the referee's decision, Real Madrid fans termed the La Liga officials decision as 'double standards' and shared a video from March 6, where Ruibal elbowed Camavinga. The video showed the ball was nowhere near both the involved players, yet Aitor Ruibal elbowed Eduardo Camavinga to block his run.
The referee conveniently ignored this incident and continued the game, which didn't go as expected with the fans, who were expecting at least a yellow card to be issued against Ruibal. Fans also lashed out on VAR facilities and the referees on social media.
Defending champions Real Madrid are currently ranked at the second position in the La Liga points table, just below arch-rivals Barcelona while Los Blancos will resume their UCL campaign against Chelsea in the quarter-final first leg on Wednesday night at the Santiago Bernabeu.
