Manchester United will take on the Kings of the Europa League, Sevilla in the first leg of the UEL 2022-23 quarterfinals at the Old Trafford on Thursday night. The Red Devils defeated another Spanish side Real Betis in the Round of 16 while Sevilla got past Fenerbahce to qualify for the quarter-finals.
The Red Devils are hunting for their first Europa League title since 16-17 and are currently favorites to win it. Erik ten Hag has taken them from the trenches to an EFL trophy and probably a Champions League qualification as now they are three points clear of the fifth-placed Spurs with a game in hand. The red side of Manchester have fared well in the Europa League so far as they have won eight of their last nine matches in the competition.
Sevilla are having their worst season of the century as they are in the relegation battle in the league. The red whites are currently 13th in the La Liga with just five points between them and the relegation places. Sevilla have failed to win a single away game out of their last 13 European fixtures on foreign soil. New manager Jose Luis Mendilibar has come in with new ideas and hopes that they can still survive in the league and give a tough fight in the Europa League.
