Early on Monday, August 4, Pakistan completed a 2-1 T20I series win over West Indies during their ongoing white-ball tour, which commenced from July 31. After the Salman Agha-led side secured a comfortable 14-run win over the Caribbean side in the opening T20I, the home side bounced back to level the series in the second T20I on August 2.

Thereafter, in the third and final T20I, which was played on Monday (IST) at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida, the Men in Green defended their 189 score and registered a 13-run win. The Pakistan bowlers restricted the West Indies side to 176 in the 20 overs and clinched the T20I leg.

Fakhar Zaman ruled out of remainder of West Indies series with hamstring injury

But ahead of the final T20I, the visiting side suffered a big setback as they missed the services of top-order batter Fakhar Zaman. However, his absence did not make much impact with Pakistan securing a series win, but the veteran batter is all set to miss the ODI-leg. Notably, Fakhar Zaman suffered a hamstring injury in his left leg during the second T20I while chasing a ball in the outfield.

A medical assessment confirmed a mild strain, thus ruling him out of the final T20I and the remainder of the tour. The top-order batter is set to return to Pakistan, where he will begin his rehabilitation under the supervision of the medical team at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

Further speaking of the series, the three-match ODI-leg will commence from Friday, August 8. All the three matches of the 50-over series will be played at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba in Trinidad with the final match set to be played on August 12.
