Cricket fans brutally slammed the England team after they faced defeat against West Indies in the T20I series. The Jos Buttler-led side had lost the ODI series earlier and following it, they failed to make a comeback in the T20I series. The visitors had lost the first two games but responded in style and went on to win the next two games. With this, they had levelled the five-match T20I series 2-2 and forced a series decider.
The final match of the series started with the Windies captain Rovman Powell winning the toss and inviting the rivals to bat first. While their English opponents were looking forward to thrashing the hosts with their batting, the collective unit efforts of the West Indies seemingly destroyed their ambitions. The hosts restricted England to 132 and successfully chased the 133-run target with four balls remaining. Shai Hope remained unbeaten on 43 and was the highest scorer for his side in the match.
The defeat ended England’s tour of the West Indies, losing the ODI series 1-2, and the T20I series 2-3. Fans were quick to react to England’s defeat and slammed the Englishmen for the same.
In their upcoming assignment, England will travel to India for a five-match Test series, starting on January 25 in Hyderabad.
