Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo is set to join FC Barcelona after RB Leipzig reached a verbal agreement with the La Liga club. Olmo has been one of the best players in the world and had a breakout performance in the European Championship 2024 where L a Rojo won the tournament for the third time in dominant fashion.
Since the conclusion of the continental tournament, Olmo has emerged as one of the most sort-after players on the transfer market with top clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea and Barcelona expressing interest. Until recently, when rumours about the Catalans being the front runners for signing the 26-year-old as Spaniard was also interested in joining the club.

Since then both clubs have agreed to a €55m fee with add-ons as per Fabrizio Romano. The Italian journalist reported, "EXCL: Dani Olmo to Barça, here we go! Verbal agreement in place after key mission in Leipzig for Barça director Deco. €55m guaranteed package plus €7m in add-ons, main part difficult to reach. Olmo agreed on six-year deal valid until June 2030 and he wanted Barça move."

Speaking about the Dani Olmo transfer, earlier today, RB Leipzig ’s new managing director, Marcel Schäfer, spoke about the possibility of the transfer going through. He said, "He is an outstanding player who holds significant value for us. We are ready to discuss it, but he has a certain value. If there is a solution by Thursday, then there is a solution. Otherwise, he will join our training here, and we will have another top player in our ranks."
