Lionel Messi-led Argentina will kick start its FIFA World Cup 2022 campaign on November 22 (Tuesday) against Saudi Arabia in a Group C at Lausail Stadium. Lionel Scaloni's team arrived in Qatar with Copa America already in their pocket, and the South American champions are among the favorites to lift the title.

Notably, Lionel Messi, who is regarded as one of the legends of the game, is playing its fifth and likely to be his final FIFA World Cup. Meanwhile, a female Argentinian television reporter was robbed live on air while reporting in Qatar on the World Cup.

A decent amount of money and a few crucial documents were stolen from her handbag. Identified as Dominique Metzger, she was broadcasting from the Corniche area of Doha in the build to the tournament's first match when she realized that her items had been stolen.

Speaking of the incident, Metzger said she reported it to the local police and was surprised by their response. She told her network Todo Noticias (TN) that officials promised to identify the suspects and that she could choose the punishment for the alleged robber.

"I had my small bags on me with all the things that one needs, my wallet, the key to our hotel room, some napkins," Metzger told a TN network anchor. Meanwhile, an anchor asked her if she was dancing.  "Yes, I was dancing with the crowd, and I am convinced that It was at that moment when someone opened the bag zipper and took my wallet," the reported responded.

She further informed me that the atmosphere was too loud, with a lot of music playing around, and as she was busy with the live reporting, she could not notice pickpocketing.

"After I finished my live report, I wanted to take my wallet to buy a water bottle, and then I realized I didn't have it," she recalled. Metzger confirmed that she was robbed before the opening game of the World Cup tournament, which saw hosts Qatar lose to Ecuador 2-0 after a flashy opening ceremony on Sunday night.
