Nepal's national cricket captain,  Sandeep Lamichhane,  has been reportedly accused of rape by a minor girl in Nepal. Meanwhile, Nepal police  has initiated the probe against the player after a rape complaint by a 17-year-old girl. Lamichhane is currently in the Caribbean to play the Caribbean Premier League and yet to comment on shocking allegations against him.

Reports have further claimed that Kathmandu police have file a case at police circle in Gaushala in the city. Local police have reportedly stated that the crime was committed on August 21 as the teenage girl revealed that the cricketer used to talk to her via Whatsapp and Snapchat. 

"The victim has informed that she was a cricketer's fan and used to chat with Sandeep. She has further informed that the cricketer approached her for a meeting, and they started meeting regularly," local police was quoted as saying. 

AIG Rabindra Singh Dhanuk at Kathmandu Valley Police Office confirmed the news while talking to Setopati (Nepal's Digital newspaper) and stated that victim has gone through a medical check-up, and they are waiting for Sandeep's response. "It remains to see now if the Nepal Cricket Association takes any action on the complaint. 

According to complainant, Sandeep left for Kenya on August 22 to lead his side in the five-match T20i series against the home side. Nepal won the series 3-2 and then the 22-year-old left for West Indies to feature in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
