Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly celebrated his 51st birthday on July 8, Saturday. On the occasion, Ganguly who is fondly known as Dada across the cricket fraternity announced his first ever leadership course, Sourav Ganguly Masterclass. Earlier on July 6, Ganguly took to his Twitter to announce that 'something special' is on its way, which certainly left his fans confused. 

The tweet by the former skipper created a buzz on the internet, and while there were rumours that the ex-cricketer could join politics, others speculated that the former star batter could announce his biopic. However, putting rest to all the confusion and speculations, the ex-BCCI Chief, on his birthday, announce the launch of an online leadership course. 

Ganguly took to Twitter for the same and wrote, "16+ years of international cricket and countless matches later… on this 51st bday, I sum up my learnings for you. They are now yours!  Announcing “Sourav Ganguly Masterclass”, an app that has my first-ever online course on leadership - https://klr.bz/lG5Jc/ Thanks to @ClassplusApps & team for the tech support in making this happen in such a short notice. You guys have always been a family."

He added, "Classplus & I, together, will be donating all the proceeds from this course for the education of underprivileged."  Notably, Ganguly co-authored “A Century is Not Enough” with Gautam Bhattacharya in 2018. 

The Indian cricket legend is regarded as one of the best captains in the history of Indian cricket. The West Bengal-born cricketer made his India debut in 1992 and led his side to bring several laurels to the country. Ganguly played 113 Test matches and smashed a ton during his maiden Test game at the Lord’s in 1996. Ganguly proved to be an efficient skipper for the team as he captained his side to win the ICC Champions Trophy in 2002 as well as to the Final of the 2003 ODI World Cup Final. 

"Prince of Kolkata" was the captain of team India for a total of 195 games, and post his retirement, he took up many roles, which include the roles of the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) as well as that of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Currently, the 51-year-old is serving as the Director of Cricket for the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League.
