Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi’s YouTube channel has officially been banned in India. A couple of days ago, the Indian government prohibited several Pakistani YouTube channels from being broadcasted in the nation in the wake of Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. In the latest development, Shahid Afridi’s channel has also joined the list of banned ones. In the last few days, Afridi was actively speaking against the Indian Army. Speaking to Samaa TV on April 27, he called the Indian Army incompetent and worthless.

Afridi’s comments drew a sharp reaction from former India opener Shikhar Dhawan, who reminded the Pakistan legend about his country's defeat in the Kargil War, which happened between the two nuclear-powered Asian nations in 1999. Earlier, YouTube channels of renowned former Pakistan cricketers Ramiz Raja, Shoaib Akhtar, Kamran Akmal, and Inzamam-ul-Haq got banned in India.

Afridi responds to Shikhar’s Kargil remark

After Shikhar reminded Afridi of his country’s sour memories related to Kargil, the former Pakistan player replied to the ex-India opener with a social media post. Taking to his X handle, Afridi posted his picture with a tea cup and wrote, “Chouro jeet haar ko, aao tumhey chae pilata hun Shikhar . #FantasticTea.”

With the tea cup in his hand, Afridi was taking Shikhar back to 2019, when India’s wing commander Abhinandan was caught and served tea in Pakistan’s captivity following the infamous Pulwama attack. Both Afridi and Dhawan competed against each other a few times while serving their national sides during 2013 to 2016. Afridi retired from international cricket in 2017 after serving Pakistan for 21 years from 1996 to 2017 while Shikhar hung his boots from all forms of the sport in 2022 following his illustrious career for India from 2010 to 2022.
