Barcelona's veteran defender Gerard Piqué has announced retirement from football. The Spanish footballer on Thursday took to social media and informed that he has decided to retire from football at the age of 35, and will play his final match for FC Barcelona at Camp Nou in the   L a Liga  clash against Almería on November 5.

This season, Pique made only 3 appearances for FC Barcelona in the La Liga and it has been reported he has fallen out favour from manager Xavi and President Laporta.

In his 18-year career, Pique won many trophies with club Barcelona and country Spain. He made 615 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 53 goals and providing 15 assists for the club since his debut in 2008.

Pique won 4 UEFA Champions League trophies, eight La Liga titles, three FIFA Club World Cups with the Spanish club. He also won the 2010 FIFA World Cup with Spain.
